WordPress 5.5 – Latest Release of WordPress

by Noshad Ali

The most awaited movement for WordPress Developers and Expert has finally arrived. The release of WordPress 5.5 astonished all of the WordPressers with the exciting features.

The update of WordPress has three main features

Now, WordPress pages and posts contain the lazy loading feature. The best example of Lazy Loading website is Facebook which loads the pictures as you scroll down.

WordPress 5.5 will do the same. It won’t load any picture that is below the page unless you scroll down the page. This will help in speed optimization of your WordPress website.

People have been struggling with different plugins to enable the Lazy Loading feature. WordPress cares about its users and included the feature in its core update.

Sitemaps are very important when it comes to the SEO of the website. Google crawlers crawl the sitemap of your website to identify the structure of your website.

A sitemap is a structural presentation of all the pages and posts on a website. Google crawlers check the sitemap in the first place when they come to your website. It is a .xml file that contains information about the structure of the website. It is recommended to keep it updated all the time.

WordPress Experts use different plugins like Yoast SEO, and All in One SEO Pack to set up a sitemap but now they are free from that hassle. WordPress 5.5 contains the sitemap by default. It is now easier to get better Search Engines visibility and user’s attention.

With WordPress 5.5, we can set the themes and plugins on Auto Update so our websites will run on the latest codes. Outdated scripts are always loopholes for attackers. It is highly recommended to keep all of the plugins and themes updated on the WordPress Dashboard to ensure security.

Block Editor

New block patterns are easier to use and create complex layouts using the combination of text, media, and other available modules. Some new modules in the block editor have also been introduced.

The Block Editor gives the option of inline image editing directly from the WordPress Dashboard.

There are more fun features. Just update your website to WordPress 5.5, and get the latest fun out of it.
