If you’re planning to study in the UK like I did, you’ve probably come across the term CAS interview UK during your application journey. It stands for Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, and trust me — this step is more important than most students realize.
I recently went through the full process myself for the University of West of England, Bristol, and in this post, I want to share my firsthand experience. From choosing the university to facing my CAS interview through the Enroly platform, this is everything I wish I had known earlier.
Whether you’re applying from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, or any other Asian country, this guide is designed with you in mind.
What is the CAS Interview UK?
Understanding CAS and Its Importance
The CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is a unique identification number that a UK university issues once your admission is confirmed. This number is essential for submitting your student visa application.
But before they issue that CAS, many universities will invite you to a CAS interview — a credibility interview designed to ensure your intentions for studying are genuine.
Why UK Universities Conduct CAS Interviews
The UK takes immigration seriously. Universities are required to verify that international students:
- Are academically qualified
- Have genuine intent to study
- Can financially support themselves
- Aren’t planning to use the visa for other purposes
UK Immigration Laws
The UK has recently made some changes to its immigration laws which has a great impact on the existing and upcoming students who are planning their studies.
Common Misconceptions About the CAS Interview
I used to think the CAS interview was like a visa interview. But it’s not. It’s more like a recorded session where the university checks if you’re the same person who submitted all those documents and if your story makes sense.
Pre-CAS Process and My Journey
Choosing the University of West of England, Bristol
My journey began with researching universities in the UK. I finally chose the University of West of England (UWE), Bristol — a great university with strong industry links and diverse student life.

Completing the English Language Tests
Once I decided on UWE, I took the required English language proficiency tests , which was a standard part of the admission process.
Luckily UWE has its own English proficiency test which helped me save around GBP200 which could have cost me for IELTS.
I passed my English Language Proficiency test offered by the UWE Bristol. It was an online test that was supposed to be taken in a quiet room with an efficient Internet speed. The Test was divided into four parts like IELTS Reading, Speaking, Writing, and Listening.
Going Through the Admission Procedure
After the language test, I applied formally and got an offer letter. The process was smooth with guidance from my consultant.
Payment and CAS Eligibility
Once I received the unconditional offer, I paid a little more than 50% of the total fee to become eligible for the CAS procedure.
Enroly – The CAS Management Platform

What is Enroly?
The Enroly platform was something new to me. UWE assigned Enroly as a third-party portal to manage my CAS process.
How Enroly Simplifies the CAS Process
Enroly is user-friendly and efficient. It allows you to:
- Upload documents (passport, academic credentials, financials)
- Answer pre-interview questions
- Track CAS progress in real time
Uploading Documents and Answering Initial Questions
Before the actual CAS interview UK, I was asked to fill in multiple details:
- My education background
- Financial documents
- Statements of purpose
This step is crucial — don’t rush it.

Preparing for the Interview
The interview isn’t live — it’s a recorded video interview. This gave me some relief. I prepared by practicing in front of a camera and reviewing possible questions.
The Day of the Interview
