Since 2016, I’ve been working as a Freelancer specializing in the field of Digital Marketing. My expertise encompasses various tasks such as website designing, Social Media and Ads assistance, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Email Marketing, and other related responsibilities that may arise.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and possess a strong passion for Digital Marketing, which has facilitated my comprehension, learning, and application of these skills in my professional interactions. I have accumulated a total of 8 years of experience, with 4 years part-time work and 4 years to full-time self-employment.

Since its been 8 years, I want to take my skills to advance level by persueing a Masters Degree in Digital Marketing. I have looked at many options but I found UK the most suitable one.

Find Your Course and University

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been searching and submitting applications to various universities. One aspect that stands out to me about UK universities is their exceptionally user-friendly websites. These sites provide comprehensive information about each course, including detailed content/modules, tuition fees and scholarships, career prospects, and other valuable resources that help in determining if a particular university is the right choice for you.

Google List of Universities offering [Degree Name] in UK. You will get a list of universities of all universities offering your subject in the UK.

It provides a valuable chance to assess and determine if the university is a suitable choice for you. When comparing it to other countries, the university websites in the UK are super informative.

Additionally, they assist in locating housing and employment opportunities if you opt for a placement year during the admission process, which incurs additional costs in addition to tuition fees.

Application Process to Study in the UK

All of the universities have their admission portals where you can fill out your information and upload your documents.

Statement of Purpose

The Statement of Purpose holds significant importance in your application. It requires you to explain the reasons behind your choice of subject, your rationale for selecting the specific university, and how the course aligns with your career aspirations.

It is essential to create a professional outline for this. With the assistance of AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, I utilized their capabilities to compose my Statement of Purpose (SoP). AI tools perform optimally when provided with high-quality prompts.

I specifically provided Claude.ai with information about my identity, occupation, my experience and my motivations for pursuing the chosen program at the University (name), and requested them to generate the SoP accordingly.

Additionally, please remember to include any other aspects that need to be addressed in the SoP and leave the rest on Claude/ChatGPT to write it for you. Don’t forget to proofread it and make necessary changes before you finalize it.

None of my application had any problem with my SoP so leveraging AI tools is a very good option for you.

Student Life in the UK

I have been researching about students life in the UK from the past couple of weeks. Its a pretty nice place to study. If you are living in London or any suburbs there are many places for you to go and enjoy your life.

Since you are allowed to work for 20 hours per week, you can find jobs according to your skills and abilities. If not, you will find jobs in restaurants, or in the security sector.

You will be able to manage your monthly living and food expenses with this job. If you are pay is good, you can even manage your tuition fees. You can earn the rest of your tuition fees and find a way to make it in installments with your university.

Admission Offer

The university’s admission department will assess your application and contact you if they require further information or documents. They may also provide a conditional offer that includes specific requirements, such as submitting proof of English language proficiency, academic or employer references, or other necessary items.

The English language is assessed with IELTS Academic. Some of the universities accept Duolingo or have their own tests which is quiet cheaper/FREE. You can save money by appearing in the university tests.

Upon submission of the required conditions, you will receive an unconditional offer, indicating that the University has found no issues with your documents and has granted you admission.

What Happens Next?

The University requires an upfront payment known as the initial deposit, typically amounting to 50% of the total university fees (Some universities ask for less than 50%). This payment must be made in advance in order to obtain the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), a crucial document needed for visa application. You can apply for the visa after the arrival of CAS.

The payment balance can be settled once your studies commence in the UK. If you are traveling from Asian countries, you must present a Bank Statement demonstrating the remaining funds required for your remaining tuition and one year of living expenses. This is to assure the visa officer that you possess sufficient financial resources to sustain your education and livelihood.

You are allowed to work legally for 20 hours per week on student visa. Many students work Cash in Hands which is considered illegal and if you are caught doing that you will have trouble with your academic year or your PSW (Post Study Work Visa).

Several scholarships are available for international students, with most universities offering a fee reduction ranging from £2000 to £2500. Additionally, each university has dedicated scholarship and bursary pages for students to explore.

After you get your Visa, plan your travel. Good Luck 🙂

I will be writing more about my experience and other information based on my experience. Stay Tuned 😉
